N-acetyl Cysteine, 600 mg 60 capsules

N-acetyl cysteine, an amino acid, is an overlooked, inexpensive antioxidant that replenishes the natural antioxidant glutathione - the MASTER antioxidant - INSIDE the cells, helping to restore the cells' ability to combat damage from reactive oxygen species (ROS), a fancy name for free radicals.
 
Why is this important ?
The mitochondria inside the cells generate energy so that the cells can perform all of their physiologic functions - as a result of that process, free radicals are formed.  These free radicals are like tennis balls being shot out of a cannon in a room, bouncing all over the place, causing damage.  Glutathione - the master antioxidant inside the cell - protects against this free radical damage, and thus keeps the cells from wearing out - not just a good, but a great thing.

- Improves insulin sensitivity, lowering blood sugar and protecting against AGEs - advanced glycation end-products that destroy joints and damage organs.
- Blocks cancer development and lessens the side effects of chemotherapy for cancer.

N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) also:
- Fights Helicobacter pylori, H. pylori, that cause stomach ulcers and pre-disposes to stomach cancer.
- Treats acetaminophen liver poisoning.
- Protects tissues from the effects of exercise-induced oxidative stress.  So those intense workouts are safer and more effective.

- In the treatment of HIV/AIDS, NAC has been shown to cause a marked increase in immunological functions and plasma albumin concentrations
